Bring Tourism Careers to Life in Your Classroom

Help students discover career pathways in Saskatchewan’s tourism industry through ready-to-use classroom resources, practical training, and curriculum-connected learning opportunities.

Bring Tourism Careers into Your Classroom

  1. Explore tourism careers with your class.

Use a prepared activity from the Teacher Resource page to introduce students to Saskatchewan's tourism industry and career pathways.

Time required: Approximately 50 minutes of class time.

  2. Help students build practical customer service skills.

Set aside class time or assign students to complete Service Best, Frontline Sales Essentials, or Workplace Essentials. These courses help students develop transferable skills that are valuable for part-time jobs, future careers, and everyday life.

Time required: A few class hours or homework time. All of this training is FREE for high school students. Details can be found here.

  3. Offer a tourism credit course.

Encourage students to register in Tourism 10, 20, or 30 through the Distance Learning Centre, or consider offering the course at your school through your Practical Arts Program. Learn more through the DLC: https://www.saskdlc.ca/administration-supports

Time required: Approximately 100 hours, split between in-class learning and on-the-job training.
